Happy March 2016!!!

Date: 25th Feb 2016 @ 6:50am

It is hard to believe that March is already upon us!! February has seen out of school club cover a number of celebrations including Chinese New Year, Shrove Tuesday, Valentines Day ... (not to mention a number of staff birthdays) so it has been quite a busy month to say the least.

Holiday club was busy once again with children enjoying a variety of 'love and friendship' crafts and activities based on the Winnie the Pooh stories.  Children had a lovely time making Honey Bee Cup Cakes, Character Masks and Finger Puppets, 100 Acre Wood Board Games, Cross Stitch Bookmarks, Pom Pom Piglets etc. Not only did children have a lovely time being creative but a number of them also enjoyed participating in the sporting activities on offer with Mr Mills throughout the week as well as taking part in table tennis, pool, ICT activities and an endless range of free play.

After school sport sessions have continued to be popular and we are now pleased to have a number of reception children joining in with the year 1s to do a spot of football on a Monday.  Unfortunately we are still yet to get started with the Wednesday multisports sessions (thanks to last weeks terrible weather) but look forward to some drier weather in the weeks to come.

With Easter just around the corner and a number of special days such as St David's Day, St Patrick's Day and Mother's Day to inspire our after school craft activities, March looks like it could be another extremely busy month. We have already enjoyed making Welsh Peg Dolls, St David's Day Cards and Daffodils so are well on our way to welcoming in the Spring. Looking further ahead we also have our end of term 'post-Easter' holiday club to look forward to where we will be focusing on a number of children's movies such as 'Despicable Me', 'Star Wars', 'Inside Out' and 'Toy Story' (amongst others) to inspire our daily activities.  We are already taking bookings so make sure you get your children booked in sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment.

Booking forms can be picked up from club/school or follow this link to download a form from the website: http://www.s4yc.co.uk/page/upcoming-courses/6394
