Happy New Year!!

Date: 8th Jan 2016 @ 6:21pm

After a much needed Christmas break children have already settled back into club with great enthusiasm and staff are also keen to get back to some normality as soon as possible (it is especially nice to put the glitter away for a few months!!)  Children have spent the week celebrating the new year, making cards, calenders, new year wands and hats as well as talking about their new year resolutions.

As a club we are very excited about the coming year with several changes in the pipeline - most importantly a new club room for our little ones (pre-school and reception) where we will be able to focus on more age appropriate activities for the younger children which, in turn, will allow us to offer more age appropriate activities to our older infants as they remain in the infant hall.  With our new room being just down the corridor (the old class 6) we anticipate that children will still have snack together and there will be many opportunities for them to play together but club will hopefully be a little 'less hectic' when we are at our busiest.  All the logistics are yet to be decided, mainly through a bit of trial and error, but we look forward to having this space (including an undercover outdoor play area) at our disposal.

We also anticipate some changes in our junior club as children are currently in discussion with staff as to what can be done to build on the activities already on offer.  We found ourselves without hall space on many occasions towards the end of last term due to other school commitments and this had quite an impact on the activities we were able to offer. Hopefully this won't be an issue over the next few weeks so we should be able to plan some fun and imaginative after school sessions based on what ideas the children come up with.
