February Half Term Holiday Club

Date: 27th Feb 2020 @ 10:50am

As you are probably aware, whilst most schools were closed for half term, S4YC were busy enjoying a number of holiday play and sports schemes in the area which were extremely well attended and enjoyed by all.

We were up against it with the weather but took as many opportunities as possible to get children outside to blow away the cobwebs.  We were also fortunate to have several sports coaches join us during the week so children had a great time playing football and dodgeball both inside and out.

Some clubs also enjoyed dance and talent competitions between participating in the numerous 'love and friendship' arts and crafts that were on offer.

Continuing on from the February Valentine's day/friendship theme, both love and friendship were definitely in the air with children at some mixed settings enjoying catching up with old friends whilst others made new friends who they are already looking forward to catching up with during the Easter holiday club.

The arts and crafts on offer were extremely popular and kept the children busy when the weather was not so favourable.  Amongst some of the favourite crafts were friendship bouquets, cards and wands ...

... cake and biscuits...

... stained glass butterflies, birds, pebbles, friendship wheels and groovy heartfelt glasses ...

Huntington not only enjoyed the arts and crafts on offer but also took the opportunity to 'get messy' by making slime and gloop.  Having braved the windy weather with their kite, despite children being lucky not to get blown away, sadly the kite never survived to tell the tale.  Luckily the children were creative enough to be able to create some new kites of their own.

Having been back at school a week already, we are excited to get started on our March activities which include celebrating several Saints days and getting active on the run up to Sports Relief later on in the month.  We anticipate one or two early egg hunts before the end of the term but will be saving most  Easter activities for Easter holiday club.  We hope to see you there!!
