3rd - 6th November 2015

Date: 8th Nov 2015 @ 1:49pm

After a restful week off to recharge our batteries (or a busy week at holiday club as the case may be) we have enjoyed a week of celebrations including the end of Halloween, Mexico's Dia de-los Muertos and Bonfire Night.  Eventhough we thoroughly enjoyed decorating colourful sugar skulls, making our very own fireworks with glitter and all things sparkly was by far our favourite activity.  As much as we would have loved to treat the children to a firework display I think you'll agree that making our own fireworks and sparklers was the safer option.

Next week we will be focusing on Remembrance Day through activities such as pinwheel poppies and poetry, and we will be celebrating Diwali before getting into the spirit of Children in Need with a little help from our good friend Pudsey Bear.

This week saw the start of this half term's infant football courses.  Yr 2 started last Tuesday and was well attended but there are still places available if your child wishes to take part.  Yr 1 starts tomorrow and yr 2 continues this coming Tuesday.

You will be glad to hear we have compromised with school with regards to Wednesday mornings and now have access to the infant hall, ICT room and nursery whilst judo is running in the junior hall.  This means that juniors will be joinng the infants every Wednesday morning (until Christmas) for breakfast club rather than some of the infants joining the juniors (which proved to be a bit chaotic last week).  Nursery and reception children will once again have the option of going down to the nursery for this session where it will be less busy for them.

On the subject of room changes the reception children have their disco after school on Wednesday so our after school club children won't be in the infant hall for the start of the session but have kindly been invited to join in with the disco at no extra cost which we are thrilled about.  Those of us who don't go to the disco will be somewhere close by so you will be able to pick up your children in the usuall way. We will re-claim any club children from the disco as it finishes just in time for snack!!
