26th - 30th September 2016

Date: 30th Sep 2016 @ 1:58pm

It's hard to believe we have already come to the end of September and yet we have achieved so much since coming back to school.  Our 'All About Me' activities have now come to an end and children have settled in and learnt a great amount about each other in the process.  This week infants enjoyed making friendship cards, peace doves and name bracelets whilst the juniors have continued to find out more about each other through a number of outdoor games and activities demonstrating excellent teamwork on a number of occasions.

Juniors have also continued to make use of the junior field whilst the weather allows and children and staff are in the process of making a list of outdoor resources that  may come in useful over the next few weeks. Whilst indoors, juniors have spent some time painting as well as creating Hama crafts.  The boys have been equally creative working together to create some excellent lego models as well as participating in games of cards, pool and table tennis.

We start our Autumn topic next week with some Autumn window art, hedgehog crafts and a number of leafy activities as well as celebrating 'World Animal Day' on Tuesday.  Let's hope the weather is kind to us as we continue to enjoy outdoor play and explore the school grounds for Autumn craft inspiration throughout the week.

Our sports clubs have continued to be successful, despite having to relocate to the infant hall for football on Monday.  Having reminded children to bring warm weather clothes with them we anticipate that football will be outside this week (whatever the weather!)

Toddler group has also been extremely successful and it has been lovely to welcome back some familiar children and see how they have grown through the summer.  We have a number of new arts and crafts planned for the rest of the term and are enjoying some lovely new songs to sing along and make music to.  The popularity of toddler group has meant that we are now using a different entrance (at the back of the hall via the infant playground) and inviting people to come into our preschool room for a tea/coffee before the session so please do come along and join us.

Booking forms are now available for you to book your children onto the half term holiday sport and play schemes. Our theme for the holiday is a 'Sense of Diversity' where we will explore diversity through sight, sound, touch, taste and smell so it proves to be a varied and interesting week.
